Being Single and Ready To Mingle OR Waiting On Love

Did I mention that I’m single but waiting on love? Did you know that there is a difference between being single and ready to mingle AND being single and waiting on love? Let me enlighten you. Being single and ready to mingle means you don't mind different people including family and friends trying to hook you up. You start chatting or talking with the hook up and will go out on dates with them. Because you are ready to mingle, you are out to have fun, grab a drink and shag on the side if possible (*wink*). That's okay as far as you are not looking to settle down anytime soon (just in case my mum reads this). You don't even care about red flags because you are mingling and having a great time.

Being single and waiting for love is quite different. You rather meet whomever by yourself whether hanging out with friends, supermarket, office, social events, the airport and even on the road. You don't go out on dates with each and every guy you meet. Some end in phone conversations. Some even chats. You know why, because you can sense the red flags even from a phone wire away. You need to sieve the chaff from the rice. At the end of the day, there is no hard and fast rule.

So this brings me to my gist. While waiting on love, I am working at moulding myself into a Proverbs 31 woman. For those of you who don’t know what that means, grab your bible. I actually enjoy my space a lot (selfish I know) but it does get lonely most times (maka ndi women emancipation). I used to have a dog ‘Marley’ who followed me around the house and gazed at me with soulful eyes. That was sweet, but trust me, it’s never enough. So I am Single and waiting on love to Mingle.
